'List of standards' tab

This tab collects the standards of interest, grouped by publication (ICNIRP Guidelines, EC Recommendation, EU Directive). For each specific standard, the reference physical quantity, type of limit, effect and reference level are highlighted. Clicking on the 'Details' button opens a specific tab, in which:

  1. if the limits have a single value, they are shown in a table;
  2. if the limits depend on the frequency, they are displayed in a graph, the user can perform the calculation for a specific frequency and export the graph in PNG format.

'Norm comparison' tab

All the regulations appear in a multiple choice menu, grouped according to the physical quantity to which they refer. To view them, double-click on the name of the function, or make a multiple selection and press 'Append'. All the selected regulations are listed in the table that appears following these operations.

In this, for each function the following is indicated:

  1. Name of the function (next to which there is a cross-shaped icon to click to delete it from the list);
  2. Mode (PWL or RCF);
  3. Minimum frequency;
  4. Maximum frequency;
  5. Physical quantity (electric field, magnetic flux density, time derivative of flux density, power density).

The order in which the series relating to each regulation appear in the graph is the one shown in this table, from bottom to top. It can be changed by dragging with the mouse and appropriately reordering the rows of the table.

At this point you can proceed to create the graph by clicking on 'Graph'.

In the graph, you can disable the graphs relating to the individual regulations by clicking on the relative entries in the legend. This is also draggable, using the upper part as a handle (next to the icon with four arrows). This is a useful option both when viewing and when exporting the graph in PNG format (by clicking on the button that appears above the graph).

'Norm filter' tab

This tab allows you to filter the regulations displayed in Norm list and in Norm comparison. The parameters for which you can set a filter are:

  1. Type:
    • Basic restrictions or exposure limit values (ELVs)
    • Exposure limits
    • Reference levels, action values (AV), action levels (AL)
  2. Quantity:
    • Magnetic flux density
    • Time derivative of magnetic flux density (dB/dt)
    • Perceived change in magnetic flux density
    • Electric field
    • Current
    • Induced current density
    • Power density
    • Specific (energy) Absorption
    • Specific (energy) Absorption Rate
    • Energy density
  3. Metric:
    • Peak value
    • Peak-to-peak
    • Redempty value
    • Static field or DC value
  4. Subject:
    • Population and workers
    • Occupational exposures
    • Population exposures
  5. Effect:
    • Undifferentiated
    • Stimulatory effects
    • Thermal effects
    • Effects of nausea and dizziness in the static field
  6. Level:
    • Health (controlled exposures)
    • Undifferentiated
    • Sensory (uncontrolled exposures)
  7. Localization:
    • Localized exposure of the head
    • Localized exposure of the head and trunk
    • Localized exposure of the limbs
    • Generic localized exposure
    • Whole body exposure
  8. Dependency:
    • Constant limit.
    • The limit depends on both the frequency of the field and the duration of exposure.
    • The limit depends only on the frequency of the field.
    • The limit depends only on the duration of exposure.
  9. Minimum frequency
  10. Maximum frequency

Once the filter has been applied, only the standards corresponding to the set parameters will be displayed in the first two tabs.
